"Some Things That Make A Difference"

Text: Ezk22:23-31
Intro: They had all helped to fill the measure of the nation's guilt, but none had done any thing towards the emptying of it; in
this they were all alike.  Those who should have been the brightest examples of virtue were ringleaders in iniquity and
patterns of vice.  In verse 30 God was looking for a man to stand in the gap And I sought for a man among them, that should
make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
    A. God was looking for one man to stand in the gap that He should not destroy the land.
    B. One man, woman, boy or girl may be all that it will take to  make great difference in this meeting.  Will it be you?
        But there are some things which make no difference. It makes no difference who you are:
    C. You need to be saved. Romans 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is
        none that doeth good, no, not one.  Rom. 3:23
    D. You must be saved by Jesus (Acts 4:12).
    E. Your sins will find you out (Num. 32:23).
    F. You will reap what you sow Gal. 6:7
    G. You will die some day Heb. 9:27
    H. You will bow before God Romans 14:11-12  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
        and every tongue shall confess to God. ~ So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
    I. It makes a difference when a man gets saved.
    J. In his deportment or manner of living.
        1. The woman at the well John 4:29  Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
            a. Jesus still tells us all about our selves.
        2. The woman taken in adultery John 8:1-11
        3. The man who lived among the tombs Luke 8:35  Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and
            found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and
            they were afraid.  II Tim. 1:7
    K. In his desires II Cor.5:17
    L. In his devotion Acts 9:6
        1. Paul, “What wilt thou have me do?”
        2. He was persecuting church members, now he is preaching the gospel.
        3. Your actions in this church will either cause her to be more spiritual or hinder her spiritually.
        4. You should love the church of which you are a member!
            a. Because she is a church of Jesus Christ
            b. She has a mission and a message given her from above.
            c. She is the most important thing in the community.
            d. She is worthy of your faithfulness, your loyalty, and your support
        5. She’s not perfect because she is made up of imperfect people.
            a. One day she will be presented to Him without blemish and without spot Eph.5:26-27
        6. As a member you can make a difference by your faithfulness ,loyalty and support.
    M. When a person gets saved it will make a difference in your destiny, from hell to heaven.
I.  It makes a difference about the company we keep.
    A. It makes a difference socially
        1. Young men in prison because of the company they kept.
        2. Young women in trouble because of the company they kept.
        3. Families on the verge of breaking up because of the company they keep.  1 Corinthians 15:33  Be not deceived: evil
            communications corrupt good manners.
            a. Bad company corrupts good morals.
    B. It makes a difference spiritually.
        1. Elijah’s good influence upon Elisha, II Kings chapter two.
            a. From Gilgal to Bethel to Jericho to Jordan
        2. Lot: Bad influence on his family.
II. It makes a difference about the convictions we have.
    A. Regarding Scripture. Jude 3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was
        needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered
        unto the saints.
        1. God’s inspired Word.
        2. All sufficient rule of faith and practice.
        3. John 8:32; Psa 119:11
    B. Regarding separation II Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
        and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
    C. Regarding service Rom. 12:1
        1. Right church Ephesians 4:4-5  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; ~
            One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
        2. Right baptism
