"All Of Satan's
Apples
Have Worms"

15:11-21
Introduction:
The Devil
has some real pretty apples but they are all fakes and after you bite
into
them, you will find that they all have worms.
A. Every time the Devil promises happiness, he lies.
B.
When he promises that everything will turn out well, he lies and
deceives.
C. Everybody who has ever depended on the Devil’s way, the Devil’s
pleasure,
the Devil’s plan, has found that the Devil’s
apples all have worms
I.
The young man in our text found that the Devil’s apples have worms.
A. This young man found things around home to be distasteful; he
didn’t want to obey the rules.
1. Obedience is always a distasteful thing to young people.
a. I don’t want to have to stay here and mind is the attitude of
most young people.
b. I don’t want dad telling me what time I must get in, what time
I must be in bed, when to get up, what kind of
company to keep.
B. Why is there so much hard work in the world?” is a question
often
asked
1. Remember God said to Adam in the Garden of Eden after sin came
in, “cursed is the ground for thy sake…In the
sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the
ground.”
Gen. 3:17-19
2. But the Devil promises easy ways to make a living without work.
3. You can cheat on exams, postpone study, cram before
examinations,
but you will soon find Him to be a liar.
C. The Devil promises easy ways to get money.
1. Gamble in any of the casino’s around the country.
2. Play the lottery.
D. The Devil has a good argument, he doesn’t want you to play by
the rules.
E. The young man in our text found himself in a strange country
without
money, without friends, without food, hungry and
living with the hogs.
1. Young people when you go after Satan’s apples you’ll find
yourself
in the hog pen of sin.
2. All Satan’s apples have worms.
II.
The Devil always makes the far country look beautiful
A. He always paints it in glowing colors.
B.
The Devil always says, “out in the far country there is wonderful music
and dancing.”
C. Out in the far country there is drugs and alcohol.
D. Out in the far country there are more beautiful girls to go
with,
more handsome guys to choose from and no rules.
1. There everybody does as he pleases and has a good time.
E. The Devil says that out in the far country they have plenty of
money and don’t have to work for it.
F. Out in the far country you would have lots of friends, not
these
old fogy folks around here.
1. You can stay out as long as you like.
G. The Devil has some beautiful apples but they all have worms.
III.
In our text the young man went, “into a far country, and there wasted
his
substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a
mighty famine in that land, and he began to be in want. And he went and
joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his
fields
to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks
that
the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.”
A. You may not believe that the Devil’s apples have worms; but
one
day, when it turns out bitter, you’ll find a worm in that
apple.
B.
When you look at a sinner who is making good money and having a good
time,
while you are serving the Lord and
having it tough, then listen to what God says in Psa. 37:7-10
IV.
Young people if you go the way of sin and give in to your sex passions
you’ll find out that “all Satan’s apples have worms.”
Prov. 5:3-5
A. It usually starts with what is called innocent petting and
necking.
V.
Drugs and alcohol are apples of Satan.
A. Drugs will burn up your mind.
B. Alcohol destroys homes, individuals and lives
1. It is America’s number one killer Prov. 23:29-35
Conclusion:
The young
man in our text threw away all Satan’s apples. Verses 18-19
“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, father, I
have
sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be
called
thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.”
A. If you want your life to count for the Lord then you must get
rid of Satan’s apples. I John 2:15-17.
